Adopt
Meet Penelope
American Shorthair (short coat)
Small Young Female (spayed)
Penelope came to us as a dump one morning that we found after a rainy day 🙁 She was found by our sign with a small puddle of water at the bottom of a box with two other kittens. It took no time for us to see that she was pregnant but had a rotting tail. We had to wait for her to have her sweet kittens, which happened within days, before we could address her tail.
All of her kittens have long been adopted and she still waits for her forever family. She does have a little stub of tail BUT it makes it that much better when you see that little butt wiggle with content. Penelope has been spayed and is looking for her forever home! The adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccinations and wormings, spay or neuter surgery, Frontline application, collar, ID tag and a cardboard pet taxi.

How To Adopt
Adoption Requirements
The biggest requirement is that you are emotionally and financially ready to take care of and LOVE your new pet. You need a picture ID and if you are an apartment dweller you need to verify with your landlord that your pet is approved. Before leaving with your pet we will need to verify with your chosen veterinarian that an appointment has been made. We want to do everything possible to insure that the animals in our care transition to a caring environment.
- State or Government issued ID
- Minimum age of 21
- Verifiable veterinarian
- Pet must live inside
- Fenced yard is a plus
- Home check if there are any questions
What are the adoption fees?
Cats/Kittens – $125 and up
Puppies – $215 and up
Dogs – $200 and up
* Fees vary based on age and desirability of the specific dog or cat.
Why are there adoption fees?
The adoption fee includes the cost of spay/neuter surgery and a rabies vaccination for your new pet. To ensure your pet’s overall health and well-being, we require a visit with your own veterinarian for a check-up and any additional vaccinations that may be needed. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the support of our community through adoption fees, donations, and bequests to continue our mission of providing care for homeless animals and promoting spay/neuter programs for dogs and cats.
